A time against race

A Canal Street whore, beaten, desperate, and devoid of hope reaches through time to connect with Maude Travers. The vision leads her from the dangerous streets of Buffalo, New York’s Infected District in the late nineteenth century to the Colored Musicians Club in the early decades of the twentieth. To understand how her vision is linked to the presence of the Ku Klux Klan in the city during the early 1920’s, Maude searches through nearly a century of Buffalo’s history, only to realize the records she seeks lie beyond the veil. Together with her son, a mystic of sorts, they uncover secrets long hidden in a once vibrant corner of the city, where jazz was as important as church. Revealing what they know could cause more harm than good. Maude must choose between helping a dear friend pass peacefully or destroying two families. There are others who would use this information to exact revenge over wrongs that have bred trauma across several generations. What is the point of having the gift of sight if it has the potential to ruin the lives of those she loves?

The book launch for A Time Against Race was a great success. Here is Rosanne Higgins signing several of her books in person.
